Adobe Releases Drive 2.0

Adobe has release Drive 2.0, a connector interface that allows asset users working from CS5 applications to connect directly with OASIS compliant Digital Asset Management systems. Functioning as a replacement to Version Cue, Drive 2.0 allows files to be opened through the normal application interface such as the “Open” dialog or through Adobe Bridge, manipulated, then saved back to the DAM as a new version. While it requires a custom connector to be written by the DAM vendor, it promises to make accessing files simpler, more intuitive, and bring an end to the endless proliferation of scattered files versions.
